Meet Reece Kresge: Aspiring Gunsmith with a Passion for Precision
Reece Kresge is a dedicated and skilled gunsmith who graduated with honors from the Pennsylvania Gunsmith School’s esteemed Master Gunsmithing Program® in September 2024. A native of the Poconos, Reece has been immersed in the world of hunting and shooting since the age of 12, cultivating a lifelong passion for firearms and their craftsmanship.
During his time at PGS, Reece honed his expertise by completing the Brownell’s AR15/M16/M4 Armorer’s course, earning certification to work on the M16 platform. He discovered a particular passion for restoring military surplus firearms, building traditional-style sporting rifles, and assembling parts kits.
Reece’s journey led him to connect with Chief, an expert in shotgun theory and custom choke making. After attending one of Chief’s lectures and visiting his shop in Red Lion, Reece joined forces with him to contribute to general gunsmithing work while gaining invaluable experience in gunsmithing under the mentorship of Chief.
Looking ahead, Reece aspires to return to his roots in the Poconos and establish his own gunsmithing business, filling a vital need for specialized firearm services in the region. He aims to focus on military-style rifles and be the leading expert in parts kit builds—especially AKM-pattern rifles—and plans to secure a 07 FFL and 02 SOT to manufacture firearms and NFA items, including machine guns and short-barreled rifles.
With his dedication to craftsmanship and a clear vision for the future, Reece Kresge is on the path to becoming a prominent name in the world of gunsmithing.
